Merry Christmas 2008!

We want to start off this journal entry by wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope you had a wonderful time with your family. We feel so blessed to have such generous and loving family and friends.

We spent last weekend celebrating Christmas with the Ohneck family in Pennsylvania. Abigail got many nice gifts from Grandma, Grandpa and Uncle Russell. On Saturday we had a cake for Baby Jesus and some other really good food! On Sunday we attended the "Word in Music" church service and got to hear the choir sing some wonderful songs. Below is a picture of Abigail in her Christmas sweater and a video of her playing with a balloon. She loves balloons!

This week we spent Christmas in Virginia with the Carter family. Our bellies are nice and happy from all the good food we have ate this week. Abigail tried pumpkin for the first time and also some other home cooked dishes. We had our annual Carter gift exchange. It is always interesting to see what gifts are passed around the room because they are the most popular. This week has also been a big week for Abigail. She has learned how to sign "eat," "up," and "milk!" Nick's parents have a wooden rocking chair that is just the right size for Abigail. She has learned how to get into the chair and sit down. It is so neat to watch her learn things on her own. Abigail has begun recognizing certain words we say. Often times she will try to repeat the words we say with similar noises and syllables. We can't wait to see what she does next. Here are some pictures from this past week:
